The Ministry of Health is working in collaboration with Police in monitoring houses of worship and that strict COVID-19 protocols are adhered to.
The Ministry reiterates that only fully vaccinated people are to enter houses of worship.
Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has earlier highlighted that unvaccinated individuals are also not allowed to enter high-risk businesses such as cinemas, bars, taverns, gyms, hair salons, tattoo parlours, gaming venues or attend a sporting event.
The Health Minister further says therefore, those who are in charge of these venues, businesses and houses of worship must ensure that they check the vaccine status of all those who enter their premises.
Dr Waqainabete adds COVID is still here and they hope that they will soon reach the stage where the disease is at low and safe levels for them to remove all the remaining restrictions.
