Foreign students to study in 3 public medical schools in Kyrgyzstan – Health Minister – AKIpress

AKIPRESS.COM – “We told foreign students they will remain in Kyrgyzstan, but will study in accredited medical schools,” Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
“I talked to Rectors of 3 universities – Kyrgyz National University, Osh State University, State Medical Academy. We have developed a modality. Students of closed medical schools will be transferred there,” Minister Beishenaliev said.
Health Minister Beishenaliev said he talked to foreign students.
“They are glad. Their parents are happy as well. Besides, tuition in public universities is less,” Health Minister Beishenaliev said.
Some just opened a medical school in a 3-room apartment, Health Minister Beishenaliev said.
500-600 foreign students pay $3,000 tuition, he said.
These foreign students are nationals of India and Pakistan. They do not study, but just sell at markets, Health Minister Beishenaliev added. “They just come for examinations and give bribes. We have uncovered all that. 12 private medical schools will be closed,” Minister Beishenaliev said.
The Ministry of Education issues licenses to medical schools. The Ministry of Health issues certificate of suitability of clinical training sites.
“I have developed a mechanism. We will recall certificates from medical schools, which clinical training sites do not meet requirements and the license of the Ministry of Education will be annulled automatically,” Minister Beishenaliev said.
